For example, to set up an account at MyKarakter, we need to collect a few personal information about you, such as: username, email address, and age. We may also ask you to provide us with some additional information such as profile picture.
Of course, you'll also provide us whatever information you send through the services, including your conversations with AI characters and any characters you create. Remember that if you make characters public, other users can always save your content or copy it outside the app. So, don't share content that you will not want someone else to save or share.
We'll collect any information you volunteer when you contact MyKarakter support.
• Content Information: We collect information about the content you provide:
• Chat Conversations: We collect and store your conversations with AI characters to provide the service, maintain conversation history, and improve AI responses.
• Character Creation: We collect information about AI characters you create, including names, descriptions, personality traits, and conversation examples.
• Camera and Photos: Many of our services require us to collect images and other information from your device's camera and photos. For example, you won't be able to upload character images or profile pictures unless you grant us access to your device's camera/storage.
• Network Information: We may collect information about your device's network state.
We use the collected information to:
• Develop, deliver, operate, maintain, improve, and protect our products and services.
• Train and improve our AI models to provide better roleplay experiences and character interactions.
• Communicate with you.
• Monitor and analyze trends and usage.
• Personalize the services or customize the AI character responses and recommendations you see.
• Enhance the safety and security of our services.
• Verify your identity and prevent fraud or other unauthorized or illegal activity.
• Enforce our Terms of Service.
• We may also store some information locally on your device.
Other Users. We may share the following information with other MyKarakter users:
• Information about you, such as your username (when you create public characters).
• Public characters you create and their descriptions, personality traits, and example conversations.
• Any additional information you have consented for us to share.
Other users and the general public:
• Public information like your profile picture and username (if you choose to make characters public).
• Any characters or content that you choose to make public on the service.
AI Model Training: We may use your conversations and characters (in anonymized form) to train and improve our AI models. This helps us provide better roleplay experiences for all users.
Your private conversations with AI characters are stored securely on our servers to maintain conversation history and improve AI responses. Public characters you create may be preserved even if you delete your account to avoid disrupting other users' experiences with those characters.
You should know that users who see public content can always save it. We may also need to suspend some deletion process if we receive valid legal process asking us to preserve content or if we receive reports of abuse or other Terms of Service violations. Finally, we may also retain certain information in backup for a limited period of time or as required by law.
We let you access and update the personal information that we have about you. We may reject a request, for example, if it risks the privacy of other users, is repetitive, or is unlawful. You can update your account information in the app by visiting the app's settings.
If you change your mind about our ongoing ability to collect information from certain sources that you have already consented to, such as your camera, you can simply revoke your consent by changing the settings on your device if your device offers those options.
We may let other companies use cookies and similar tracking technologies on the services. These companies may collect information about how you use the services and other websites and online services over time and across different services. This information may be used to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain characters and content, and better understand your online activity.
You can request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time directly from the app by navigating to Settings > Delete Account, or by sending an email to support@mykarakter.com. Please note that popular public characters you created may be preserved to maintain other users' experiences. Once an account is marked for deletion, we will initiate the process to remove your information, such as your username and profile picture, from our systems. This process may take some time to complete due to our database maintenance cycles.
You should keep in mind that no matter where you live or where you use our services, your information may be shared within MyKarakter. This means that we may collect your personal information from, transfer it to, and store and process it in the United States and other countries outside of where you live.
Our Services are not intended for—and we do not direct them to—anyone under 18. Therefore, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. To use the Services, you must be at least 18 years old, as stated in our Terms of Service.
We'll let you know if there were changes by revising the date at the top of the Privacy Policy that's available on our mobile application and website.
This Privacy Policy was written in English and to the extent the translated version of this Privacy Policy conflict with the English version, the English version will control.
